My (admittedly brief) political discussions

Reading the stories on this site and reading people's discussions about their political discussions with republicans or other dems makes me want to talk about my (admittedly rather brief and not too in-depth) discussions with people I would assume to be such. So I will in this diary; please keep reading below the emblem.

Before I say anything I'm going to say right now that 5 out of 6 of the people I have talked to are/have been my teachers so if your going to get hung on that please don't comment, I had enough of that in my last diary and the 4th person is my mom's boss. These conversations usually contain at least 3 elements: how do you feel about Obama, will you vote for him again, and something else that I may be thinking of at the time, some of them have asked me questions, I will also give my resonses.

Chemistry Teacher: Well she was without a doubt the most Obama friendly and is unabashedly liberal. She is very different from the others involved. She's the only one whom actually seemed (and still seems so) very enthusiatics about Obama seeing him as the most intelligent president we've had in a while. She mostly see's the state of the country as a result of republicans not letting him do anything. Incidentally, she also does not have a favorable opinion of Sarah Palin but, we didn't really get into that.

Trigonometry Teacher: He is the most complex person on this topic. He did not vote for Obama and he doesn't plan to this time. He has told me that for him the first thing he looks for in a candidate is if they are pro-life or not and if they aren't he won't vote for them (he does believe in exceptions though in case the mother's life is in danger ect) When I asked him to describe the president he said "socialist liberal, he redistributes wealth." Yet, besides different politic views he doesn't seem to hold any animosity towards the president and has said that if the situation calls for it he would jump in front of a bullet for him because "he is the most important American there is." Though really, he seems to me like the type of person who would do that for anyone.

Tech Issues Teacher: He holds the deepest disdain for the president. Has commented on how the country is moving towards socialism and when I asked him is view of the president he said "If it's between him and a goat I'd vote for the goat." He also said something about muslims but, I couldn't really make it out. I often see him on foxnews.com on his off-time.

English Teacher: Not much to really say about her. When something got brought up in class that had to deal with Obamacare she said she could understand the reasoning behind it but, didn't think it would pass. She's said that overall she think's Obama's been doing a pretty good job. Honestly I see her identifying as a Republican but, she has said that she isn't the type of person that would vote strictly on party line. I don't know whom she voted for because, she doesn't believe in telling people who you vote for.

Environmental Science Teacher: The only question I asked him was how he thinks Obama's doing. He said not good. I asked him at the end of class when I began thinking about it because, while we were watching a documentary on climate change he made some comments about how this canyon or something wasn't formed over millions of years but, after the great flood and then somehow he and another student started talking about Israel and how when Israel falls the world will end at how that's going to happen because, Obama is allienating Israel.

Mom's Boss: He is the only one I actually had an in-dept conversation with. I won't go into everything but, he did vote for Obama but, would have thought that Hilary Clinton would have been a better president. He said if John Huntsman won th nomination he might have voted for him but, since that didn't happen he most likely will vote for Obama again. He believes that in order for the country to get back on top that we need to tax the wealthy much more than we do right now but, after things have gotten bette tax everyone including middle class more.

None of these people really changed my views on anything but, it is refreshing to talk to people in person and not over the internet (no offense intended love this site). As a side thing I would jus want to see if you all can guess which state each is from. One is from California, One from New York (but, not New York City) Three from Mississippi and, One from Tennessee. Thanks for reading and look forward to your comments.

8:43 PM PT: Also, I should note that they are all white and aside from the chemistry teacher I feel that religion is important to all of them (I'm sure it is for at least three).
